Mobile App Privacy Policy

Last Modified: July 11, 2026

This policy covers the Choiceworks and Choiceworks Calendar apps for iOS and Android, made by Bee Visual, LLC ("Bee Visual," "we," "us," or "our").

We make Choiceworks and Choiceworks Calendar to support children, families, caregivers, teachers, and care teams. The boards, calendars, pictures, recordings, routines, and notes families create can be deeply personal, so our promise is simple:

Bee Visual does not collect, sell, rent, track, or monetize your family's app data.

We do not operate a Bee Visual server for your content. We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking tools. The Apps do not automatically collect information about you or send any information to Bee Visual, and do not use cookies, web beacons, or other tracking technologies. If you opt in to share diagnostics with developers in your device settings, Apple or Google may provide us aggregated crash and performance reports. These never include your boards, images, recordings, or identity. We do not sell or share your data, and we never have.

Information you create in the app.

You can create and customize boards, calendars, events, profiles, images, audio recordings, videos, schedules, feelings and waiting boards, themes, and reports. This content stays on your device unless you choose to use an Apple service or a sharing feature described below. Bee Visual cannot see the content you create.

Optional iCloud Sync and Backup.

The Apps offer optional iCloud Sync and Backup using Apple's iCloud and CloudKit. If you turn it on, your data is stored in your own personal iCloud account so it can sync across your own Apple devices, signed in with the same Apple ID, and help you restore your data. This is provided by Apple under your Apple ID and Apple's terms and privacy practices. Bee Visual does not receive a copy of your iCloud data and does not operate iCloud.

In Choiceworks, iCloud Sync and Backup is an optional switch. If you would rather keep your data only on your device, leave it off. In Choiceworks Calendar, your calendars are stored in your own private iCloud automatically whenever the device is signed in to iCloud. To keep Calendar data only on the device, sign the device out of iCloud, or turn off iCloud for Choiceworks Calendar in Settings. In both apps, your data lives only on your devices and in your own iCloud account. Bee Visual never receives it.

Choiceworks and Choiceworks Calendar for Android.

The Android apps store your data on your device. There is no Bee Visual cloud service, and no data moves between the Android and iOS versions. Backup works two ways, and you control both. You can create a local archive file yourself from inside the app. In addition, your device's own Google backup (Android Auto Backup) may include the app's data in your personal Google account backup so it can be restored to a new device, under Google's terms and privacy practices. Bee Visual never receives a copy. Your purchase is handled by Google Play, and Google processes the payment. The same promise applies on Android as on iOS: we do not collect your data, and the apps contain no ads, analytics, or third-party SDKs. The Google Play data safety label confirms this.

Sharing and exporting.

You can choose to share or export boards, calendars, PDFs, backup archives, and reports using features like AirDrop, Mail, Messages, Print, Save to Files, or iCloud Drive. When you share or export, you control where it goes, and the receiving app, service, or person handles it under their own privacy practices. Please share carefully when content includes a child's image, voice, name, routine, disability-related information, school or medical context, or other sensitive details.

Photos, camera, microphone, and video.

The Apps may ask permission to use your camera, photo library, microphone, or video library so you can customize your images and boards. These are used only for app functionality; Bee Visual does not receive the photos, videos, or recordings you add. You can change or turn off these permissions anytime in your device's Settings app: open Settings, scroll to Choiceworks or Choiceworks Calendar, and toggle Camera, Microphone, Photos, or Calendars.

Apple Calendar access. Choiceworks Calendar can optionally connect to the Apple Calendar app on your device so you can view or add events alongside your visual schedule. If you allow this, the connection happens entirely on your device through Apple's calendar system. Bee Visual does not receive your calendar events. You can turn this off anytime in Settings under Choiceworks Calendar, then Calendars.

Parental lock (Face ID or passcode). The Apps offer an optional parental lock that can use Face ID or your device passcode. This check is performed entirely by your device using Apple's built-in security. Bee Visual never sees or receives your face data or passcode.

Notifications. The Apps may ask permission to send you notifications, such as timers or schedule reminders. These are generated on your device. Bee Visual does not send you marketing notifications.

Reports and activity history.

The Apps may create a local report or activity history (for example, feelings selected or activities completed) that is stored on your device for your use inside the app. Bee Visual does not collect this data. If you export or share a report, you decide where it goes.

Purchases.

The Apps are a one-time purchase. On iOS, Apple handles the payment through the Apple App Store. On Android, Google handles the payment through Google Play. Bee Visual does not receive your payment card number or your store account password.

Customer support.

If you contact us for support, we receive only what you choose to send (such as your name, email, message, or attachments), and we use it only to help you. Please don't send a child's private information unless it's necessary for support; if you send something sensitive by mistake, you can ask us to delete it. We retain support and contact correspondence for up to 12 months after the issue is resolved, then delete it. You can request earlier deletion at any time at info@beevisual.com.

Children.

Our Apps are designed for use with children under the guidance of a parent, caregiver, teacher, therapist, or other responsible adult. Bee Visual, LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years old. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 years of age without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Bee Visual does not ask children to create accounts and does not target children with advertising.

Schools and Student Data.

Bee Visual operates no servers and never receives student data, so there is no Bee Visual-hosted student data to review. If sync is used, data is stored only in the school's or family's own Apple iCloud private database, protected by Apple's safeguards. Our apps comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design: we collect no personal information from children, offer no accounts, and show no advertising. Because we never receive education records, there are no records subject to FERPA in our possession. Because Bee Visual collects nothing, there is nothing for a district data privacy agreement to govern: this policy and our Student Data Policy are the paperwork, and most data elements would simply read "not collected."

Tracking and advertising.

The Apps do not track you across apps or websites, do not show third-party ads, and do not use advertising identifiers or data brokers.

Data security.

We design the Apps to keep your family's data on the device and under your control. Device security, iCloud security, and sharing destinations are controlled by Apple, your device settings, your Apple ID, and the services you choose to use. We recommend protecting your device with a passcode, keeping your Apple ID secure, and making regular backups.

Security incidents.

Bee Visual operates no servers and does not hold your app content. The only personal information we hold is support and contact correspondence, such as emails you send us. If that correspondence or the systems that store it are ever compromised, we will notify affected individuals, and any affected school or district, without unreasonable delay and no later than 30 days after we learn of the incident, or sooner where state law requires. iCloud is operated by Apple, and any iCloud security incident is governed by Apple's own security processes.

Your choices.

You can keep iCloud Sync and Backup off to keep data only on your device; turn it on for Apple syncing and backup; export a backup archive; delete boards, calendars, images, profiles, recordings, videos, and reports inside the app; change camera, microphone, photo, and notification permissions in Settings; and contact us to delete support messages you sent.

Deleting your data completely.

To remove everything, first delete your content inside the app. If you used iCloud Sync and Backup, you can also remove the app's iCloud data entirely: open Settings, tap your name, tap iCloud, tap Manage Account Storage, choose Choiceworks or Choiceworks Calendar, and tap Delete Data. Bee Visual holds no copy of your content, so there is nothing on our side to delete.

Changes to this policy.

We may update this policy when the app changes or the law changes. If we make important changes, we'll update the date and post the new version here.
